How do I send setup steps to my developer?

If someone else builds your site, send them the connect steps by email. They get the steps and a new key, so they can finish without signing in to your dashboard.
Send the steps
- Open the connect steps. They are in setup's Connect step, and on the Integrations page under Connect in the sidebar.
- On the tab for your platform, select Send to my developer under the steps.
- Enter Your developer's email and select Send.
The page then reads "Sent to" and their address. Send to my developer shows until your store is connected. It can't go to your own address.
What the email says
The email tells your developer that you asked them to connect your store. It has the steps for the platform you sent from:
- WordPress: a link to download the plugin, how to install it, and where to paste the key.
- Next.js and React: the install command, the key and store to put in the server's environment, and a link to the quick start. Each package also ships an
AGENTS.mdfor coding agents. - Something else: how to send each order to
POST /api/v1/orders, where the widget code goes, and a link to the API reference.
It also has a new key: a plugin key for WordPress, and a store key for every other platform. The email is the only place that key shows. Nothing connects until someone uses it.
Find or revoke the key
The key is named "Sent to" and your developer's address. On the Integrations page, under Options, it is in the API keys card on the WordPress tab, or the Store key card on the others.
If you sent it to the wrong person, select the trash icon beside it, then Revoke key. It stops working at once. Then send the steps again to the right address.
Watch it connect
Leave the steps open while your developer works. Check it works updates on its own and reads "Connected. Your orders are on their way." once your store checks in.
